Hotel Baron
A place once known as “Gouraud Street” was renamed in 1946, after Syria’s independence, to honor the fancy Baron Hotel placed in a vibrant, luxurious city deemed to be the East Gateway, where tourists and traders from the East and West would meet.
Back in the ’50s, Baron Street was famous for its cleanliness and prosperity, witnessing the ebb and flow of a remarkable era of tourism and commerce.
